Interactions:

Research indicates that curcumin may reduce the therapeutic effects of cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan) in animal studies. Additionally, in vitro studies have shown that curcumin can decrease camptothecin-induced death in cultured breast cancer cells and may interfere with the absorption and efficacy of the chemotherapy drug irinotecan, used for treating colon cancer. Therefore, concurrent use of curcumin with these agents should be avoided.
